The Nikon D7000 is a 16.2 megapixel SLR camera and is powered by Nikon EXPEED 2 image processing technology. This SLR camera has a Nikon DX format CMOS sensor with a dimension of 23.6 x 15.6 mm.

Body

The D7000 weighs 690g and has dimension of 132 x 105 x 77 mm. The camera has Fixed eye-level Pentaprism Viewfinder and a 3-inch low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD with 921,000 dot pixels resolution. In terms of memory, the camera supports SD memory card and is SDHC and SDXC compliant. The camera kit comes with a rechargeable EN-EL15 Li-ion battery, which is capable of taking an impressive 1,050 shots per charge.

Performance

A user can mount a Nikon F mount with AF contacts lens on the D7000 camera. This Nikon camera uses Auto Focus with 39 focus points TTL phase detection and has range of -1 to +19 EV ISO 100. The Nikon D7000 uses the Nikon Multi-CAM 4800DX Auto Focus module. The camera supports Auto Focus modes such as Single-servo AF and Continuous servo AF. The ISO of the Nikon D7000 SLR ranges from ISO 100 to 6400 in steps of 1/3, 1/2, or 1 EV and additional ISO of 12800 Hi1 and ISO 25600 Hi2 can be attained. The Nikon D7000 SLR camera utilizes electronically controlled vertical-travel focal plane shutter and has a shutter speed range of 1/8000 to 30 sec, with an additional bulb support. The camera supports external flash such as SB-900, SB-800, SB-700, SB-600, and SB-400. The inbuilt flash and external flash support i-TTL balanced fill-flash and standard i-TTL flash and has 2,016-pixel RGB sensor.

Features and Connectivity

This Nikon SLR camera supports Full HD video shooting and it can record at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 24fps. It supports MOV and H.264 video formats, and NEF, NEF RAW + Fine JPEG, and JPEG image formats. Portrait, landscape, child, sports, close up, night portrait, night landscape, party/indoor, beach/snow, sunset, dusk/dawn, pet portrait, candlelight, blossom, autumn colors, food, silhouette, high key, and low key are the various scene modes supported by the camera. A user can also set up a self timer of 2, 5, 10, or 20 seconds and continuous shot can be taken at 6fps. The Nikon D7000 SLR camera supports USB 2.0 and HDMI Mini connector.
